Mariano Bottaccio, journalist and press officer at CNCA, plans and coordinates editorial and communication activities at CNCA. For Opportunities he provides support with communication and dissemination strategies for the project, in CNCA communication channels and with relevant stakeholders.

Riccardo Poli

Riccardo Poli, CNCA director, coordinates CNCA projects and strategic developments at national and European level. He is trained in pedagogy and has more than 20 years’ experience in the development and quality standards for welfare services in Italy with particular attention for young people. He implements research, training and dissemination activities and has spoken in a number of seminars and events. For Opportunities he provides support to the management of the project and links between the European work and national work at CNCA.

Joseph Kofi Teye

Professor Joseph Kofi Teye is the Director of Research, ORID, University of Ghana. He is also an Associate Professor of Migration and Development in the Department of Geography and Resource Development of the University of Ghana.  Joseph Teye is a member of various migration management technical and advisory groups, including International Advisory Board of the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Migration and Integration, and Migration Research and Publishing High-Level Advisors Group of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). Prof Teye has participated (either as a PI or Co-I) in large research projects funded by international organisations, including, DFID, EU, ESRC, ACP Observatory on Migration, IOM, ICMPD and ILO/OECD. His research interest includes migration and development, climate and environmental change and mobilities issues, labour migration policy development. He has also facilitated migration and labour migration policy development for several African countries including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and Malawi among others.

Leander Kandilige

Dr. Leander Kandilige is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Migration Studies, University of Ghana. He obtained his DPhil. (PhD.) in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford and an MSt. in Forced Migration also from the University of Oxford. He also holds a PGCert. in Managing Voluntary Organisations from the University of Southampton. In addition, he holds an MA in International Affairs and a BA in Political Science with Philosophy from University of Ghana. His areas of academic research interest include migration policy formulation; migration and development; labour mobility and regional integration; labour migrations in Africa; return migration and reintegration and theories of migration. He has been Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator and Researcher for several large projects that have been funded by diverse international funders such as the AU, ILO, OECD, IOM, ICMPD, UKRI/GCRF, GIZ, EU and ECOWAS.

Mary Boatemaa Setrana

Professor Mary Boatemaa Setrana is the Director of the Centre for Migration Studies, University of Ghana. She is an Associate Professor of Migration and Social Change at the Centre for Migration Studies of University of Ghana. She is the West Africa Chair on Forced Displacement funded by IDRC.Mary Setrana is a member of a number of migration governance advisory groups and networks including  International Advisory Board of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence on Migration & Mobility,  and the Center for Forced Displacement in Boston University. She is the Principal investigator (for Ghana ) for several projects including African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) projects on Cluster of Excellence on Interdisciplinary Peace Research, and Migration and Health and the Horizon Europe Link4Skills funded by UKRI and EU respectively. Her research interest includes migration and gender, forced displacement and environmental change, youth migration and aspirations. She has facilitated migration (ie National migration and labour migration) policy development in several African countries including Botswana, Zambia and Malawi among others.

Silvia Ghilaş

After I graduated from Ion Luca Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest with a Bachelor's degree in Theatrology, Cultural Marketing and Theatre Journalism, I started my work as Literary Adviser at The National Theatre in Iasi (2001).  Between 2002 –2006, I have worked as a directing assistant at several shows produced by The National Theater.  I was a member of the organizing team of Avram Goldfaden International Theatre Festival (2003, 2004, 2005), A.P. Cehov International Theatre Festival (2004), Europa Est de Tot International Theatre Festival (2006) and Iasi National Theater’s Day (2022). Starting with 2017, I am in charge with the activity of The Black Sea Route within The European Route of Historic Theatres. In 2017, I was the coordinator of the exhibition The National Theatre in Iasi, the Scene of the Big Representations 1916 – 1918. The exhibition was part of the project dedicated to the Centenary of the Great Union in 1918. In 2020, I implemented the project TNI 180 - Uninterrupted National Seasons. In 2022, I coordinated the international project 44 X Mickiewicz which was carried out in partnership with the Stefan Żeromski Theatre in Kielce, Poland and it was founded by “Adam Mickiewicz” Institute in Poland. Since October 2022, I am a member of the Board of PERSPECTIV, Association of Historic Theatres in Europe.

Anna Ruelens

Anna Ruelens is a senior researcher specializing in application of advanced statistical methods to the topics of comparative social policy and institutional trust. She was an active contributor to the EU Horizon 2020 project RE-InVEST. Within the "Opportunities" project she is responsible for quantitative longitudinal analysis of migration attitudes across the EU. She is also involved in the Horizon project Involve.

Sercan Kiyak

Sercan Kiyak, PhD student at the Institute for Media Studies at KU Leuven. His research in the OPPORTUNITIES project centers on using social network analysis to dissect migration discourse on social media. He is interested in employing network analysis, mixed-methods, and computational research approaches to investigate the political communication dynamics within the networked and digital public sphere.

Stefan Mertens

Stefan Mertens (PhD, Catholic University of Brussels) is researcher at the Institute for Media Studies – Faculty of Social Sciences, KU Leuven, Belgium. He is also partner for the Dutch speaking part of Belgium in the international Worlds of Journalism Project (http://www.worldsofjournalism.org). His research interests include quantitative and qualitative content analysis, media and diversity, media policy analysis, survey research, research on cultural values and journalism cultures and audience reception studies.
